Day 10 According to my friend James Clear, "the most powerful drivers of habits and behavior change: the social

environment. The way that social environment influences our habits is through the tribes we belong to and the groups we are a part of." Think about this for a minute. As you are trying to change some habits, are your friends on board or are they looking at you like you have lost your mind? Say you start going to yoga and your family/friends think you have joined a cult or doing something weird.... I had friends who wanted "to do an intervention." They actually prayed for me thinking I was going to hell, because I was practicing yoga. I thanked them for their well-meaning concerns. And, proceeded to find a new tribe who were also on my path. I experienced little God winks all along the way. I opened myself up and kept meeting MY PEOPLE! My sister recently said, "it is amazing to me how you find YOUR people." You must find your tribe. Who will support you as you become the person you are meant to be? A dear sweet friend of mine successfully completed Dry January and felt ah so good. I asked what is your plan. The response was, "well I need a new tribe to continue, otherwise I have nothing to do and miss out on all the fun." HMMM....I am not going to say I do not love my red vino. I DO! And, I know when to rein it in. It has been my Vice and it has also been my wake up call. Listen to what calls you to wake up. Listen deeply. Sit with it. What does that part need/want? Ask yourself if your tribe supports it? Are you a reader or part of a reading group? Are you a runner or part of running group? Are you a single person practicing yoga or a yogi who is part of a group?

The GROUP is powerful. It gets you up and out there. I could not have/would not have
EVER run 13 marathons and 50+ half marathons without my running group. I would
have NEVER showed up for 5:30 am Ashtanga yoga Mysore classes without the power
of the group.
It is all about the POWER of the GROUP. You are the sum of the 5 people you surround
yourself with. Who is in your tribe?
