Do you have an ULP? Upper Limit Problem Are you sick of sabotaging yourself? I read a book by Gay Hendricks called The

Big Leap years ago (2009). I was so obsessed with it, I created a workshop to share the powerful message. The basic premise is that we have a limit to what we believe we deserve or can achieve whether it be in our career, relationship, health, or abundance. And, once we hit that limit we begin to sabotage our success or any effort of moving past it. The book provides a roadmap to overcome these self-limiting beliefs. My favorite example is a story I share with a big piece of humble pie and hot coffee… I was 29 yrs old and from a small town in TN where I worked as a children and family therapist at a Child Advocacy Center where children who had been sexually abused came for free therapy. It was a small non-profit, so I made a pittance. I moved to Atlanta after meeting my soon- to-be-husband and was offered a job making more than triple my previous salary. I laughed at the Executive Director and told her that was way too much! She said ok what 1/3 less? I was overjoyed! I just gave up more than a 1/3 of a raise I could have had! Yet, I was excited to have the opportunity to make more than double what I had made in TN. Even with that salary, I could not believe I was making that much money. I felt like I needed to work harder than ever to prove that I was worthy. One of my supervisors came to me one Friday and said, "Jennifer, you are working harder and longer days than anyone. Why? You are doing a great job. Take the afternoon off." WHAT? I simply could not accept this. I had an UPPER LIMIT PROBLEM! SOME COMMON SELF-LIMITING BELIEFS

  • 1. We do not believe we deserve to be happy and healthy all the time, so we
  • sabotage our success and put on a cap on what we believe is possible.
  • 2. We believe we are fundamentally flawed and something is wrong with us.
  • 3. We worry about the good opinion of others. We worry about what may or
  • may not happen which leads to anxiety.
  • 4. The last BIG LEAP has to do with work. There are four zones. Which one
  • are you in?
  • Zone of Incompetence
  • Zone of Competence
  • Zone of Excellence
  • Zone of Genius
  • We should aim to be in our Genius Zone; however, most of find ourselves waffling
  • between Competence and Excellence fighting with the Imposter Syndrome.
  • How many times have you asked yourself, Am I am enough?
  • I have yet to meet one single person in my life who has never faced that fear!
  • "Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they're
  • yours."
  • ~Richard Bach
  • This is the quote that sticks in my mind. I often wonder who has planted those seeds
  • deep in the subconscious mind. And, furthermore, how can we excavate those damn
  • seeds and plant new ones.

You must commit to becoming conscious of your thoughts. Thoughts become things!

Affirmations are powerful and will change your life if you practice consistently.
Visualizations are transformative in changing your life. If you can imagine it, you can
achieve it!
The most critical step is in changing your life is to rewire the subconscious mind. You
can do this with hypnosis or by simply listening to a guided meditation every night 15-20
min as you fall asleep. Just before falling asleep we enter a state that is dominated by
Theta waves and the brain is undergoing a process of neuroplasticity.
This is the time when we can reprogram the subconscious mind! THIS IS MONEY! I
have found that meditation, mindfulness and binaural beats will improve theta wave
activity. However, the fastest and easiest way to change your life is to listen to a guided
meditation just before going to bed. It is like you are writing a computer program for your
brain. Your brain will look for evidence to support the new information the next day.
Combining this process with mindfulness, meditation, and consciously choosing your
thoughts, you can change your life!
I have a new program coming soon to walk you through this process and create the life
you are ready to live! It is called the Therapeutic Transformational Coach Approach!
Stay tuned for details. I am over the moon to share new transformational tools with you!
