why am I so anxious and what can I do about it? Without fail every call I have had for the past 6 months has been
filled stories about how anxiety is running the show for the majority of people today. We have a lot to be anxious about. Whether it’s the never-ending stream of news (which I tend to avoid), the pressures of work, or the challenges of relationships, many of us are feeling more anxious than ever before. But why is this happening, and more importantly, what can we do about it? Why Are We So Anxious? 1. "Am I good enough?” Our culture and/or parents place immense pressure on us to succeed in all areas of life—career, family, social status, and personal fulfillment. The fear of not meeting these expectations can trigger anxiety. What is the norm anyway?
2. Information Overload: We live in an age of constant connectivity. While it’s
amazing to have so much information at our fingertips, the bombardment of
news, social media updates with instant notifications can leave us feeling
overwhelmed and stressed. (I watched a little 5 yr old girl dancing Sunday at
the pool and taking selfies! OMG stop! Why?)
3. Uncertainty: The world feels increasingly unpredictable. The political
conversation feels so divisive! And, we had our 604th mass shooting in a
school in rural Georgia yesterday by a 14 yr old kid with an AR rifle. HOW
CAN THIS HAPPEN? It definitely feels triggering to me.
4. Isolation: Despite being more connected digitally, many people feel lonelier
than ever. The lack of deep, meaningful connections can exacerbate feelings
of anxiety. Look around at all the people on their phones instead of engaging
in conversation.
What Can We Do About It?
1. Practice Mindfulness: Mindfulness helps us stay present and reduce the
impact of anxiety by shifting our focus away from worrying about the future.
Deep breathing, meditation, and grounding exercises can be incredibly
effective. It is called a practice for a reason. You have to practice daily when
you are calm for it to be affective when the anxiety creeps in without
warning.
2. Prioritize Self-Care: Self-care isn’t just about spa days and bubble
baths—it’s about setting healthy boundaries, getting enough sleep, eating
well, and engaging in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. You can

3. Seek Connection: Make time for the people who matter to you. Building
strong, supportive relationships can provide a buffer against anxiety and
help you feel more grounded.

My last nugget
Anxiety can become your friend. It is a natural response to the challenges of life, but it
doesn’t have to control us. When we can get to the root cause and start taking proactive
steps, we can reduce its impact and reclaim our sense of peace and well-being.

Why is a Seasonal Ayurveda Cleanse Most Beneficial at the End of Summer?
As summer transitions to fall, our bodies naturally seek balance after the heat and
activity of the warmer months. According to Ayurveda, this is the ideal time for a
seasonal cleanse. Late summer heat can leave us feeling depleted, ungrounded, and
overheated. A cleanse at this time helps to detoxify the body, cool the system, and
restore balance, preparing us for the cooler, more introspective fall season. By aligning
with nature’s rhythms, we boost our immunity, improve digestion, and renew our overall
vitality for the months ahead.
