Sunday Funday How do you spend your Sundays? In another life I was a broker for a big real estate firm in Atlanta. I

had 153 agents who worked in my office. I was the broker/team leader aka The Leader. My job was to motivate, inspire, and coach them to achieve their goals. It sounded perfect for me. It was ALL THE THINGS I LOVE! However, I did not know that 80% of them believed that Sundays were for partying and day drinking-like all day aka Sunday Funday! No one showed up on Mondays and if they did, I only heard stories about how much fun they'd had Sunday and how hung over they were. (BTW I love to go to brunch and have Bloody Mary occasionally. This is not what I am referring to...) I would get so frustrated! I learned to become FASCINATED instead, so I would not drive myself crazy. Fascination opened my energy to become curious rather judgy...This is the door to compassion. They had BHAG (big hairy audacious goals) and would somehow sabotage themselves with their habits. So I got really curious about why they were sabotaging. I asked a lot of questions! Here is what I learned. They were trapped in the hamster wheel of their personality ie their habits! They/we have PARTS that want things. We all have goals. We want to be strong, healthy, and have inner peace. Why did those agents go out and drink and eat poorly on Sundays? Why do we grab the sneaky snacks instead of the water and fruit?

Because we have other PARTS that get entangled. Here are some ways some of the
types may show up entangled. We cannot ignore them!
Enneagram 8 may say, "I will boss up tomorrow and make it happen."
Enneagram 9 may say, "I will start that healthy habit tomorrow."

Enneagram 1 may say, "The world is so screwed up. No one does the right thing
anymore, and it just makes me mad!"
Enneagram 2 may say, "I just want to be a part of the group, so I will go along to support
my friends and I don't want to be left out."
Enneagram 3 may say, "This will be fun. I will meet some clients and find the power
house in this town today. It is a great opportunity for me."
Enneagram 4 may not go... they are more introverted.
Enneagram 5 may not go --too much energy to give out!
Enneagram 6 may show up to be the loyal friend but will leave early and not partake in
the drinking. After all there is a lot that can go wrong with all this partying...
Enneagram 7 will say, "Oh this will be way more fun!"
These are just short blurbs not meant to give you a full view but just a bird's eye view.
Obviously none of these are healthy statements. So these are from "average-unhealthy
types."
Consider what you have told yourself when you wanted to do one thing and another part
took over and you ended up somewhere else. What story did you tell yourself?
Contemplate how that scenario might play out for you. What is one thing you want and
some how some way you still get trapped in the habits of the personality.
Here is a practice you can do to bring you back to your center.
Find the Part that is wanting to eat/drink healthy. Then ask yourself if there is another
part that wants to do something else... When that part shows up and says YES! I want a
snickers bar or that bread whatever the answer is. Find it in your body. Where is that
part living? Your heart? Your gut? Stay with it. This is a Practice!

Ask it(the Part) why it wants whatever it wants. What is the role of this part? Ask it if it
protecting you from feeling something. Being present? Ask That Part how old it is.
Tell that part how old you really are. And let it know you appreciate what it is trying to
do, but it is an old story and is not really working anymore. Ask it to make room for
some other parts.
Yes, you are talking to your Parts.
Your SELF which is your essence is holding space for that PART. It is trying to protect
you from feeling sadness, fear, anger, rejection, etc... Sit with that. Feel GREAT
COMPASSION for that Part that grabs the cheese, bread, or snickers bar.
Instead of hating that Part.
Ask it to step aside for You to make the choices. This is how we begin to untangle
those parts that want to be healthy and the ones that sabotage our success.
This is a practice in being Present with the true SELF. This is where we heal. Becoming
WHOLE.
I am so happy for you all! You are healing. You are becoming PRESENT. You are
AWESOME!

Today is my birthday!

This is definitely my Dharma!
All the dark nights of the Soul that were filled with anxiety and ugliness have come
full-circle. Spirit has turned all of it into light.

I hope your Sunday is a Funday with HEALTHY HABITS! I am running a cold, wintery
10k race with lots of friends and the sun shining! I am so freaking happy! I hope you are
