Day 14 Two weeks in and feeling alive and vibrant! Have you ever considered the impact your thoughts have on your body?

Every thought you think goes into your cells and will either nourish you or hurt you! Have you heard of the Masaru Emoto Project? Emoto's experiments involve exposing glasses of water to various words, pictures or music, then freezing the water and examining the frozen crystals under a microscope. He proved that our thought have physical impact. It is a cool experiment. I did it with Noah (my son) when he was little for a science project, and it was a great learning tool for both of us. Ayurveda teaches us this same theory and goes further to say that how we feel about our food affects how it nourishes us. If we believe certain foods are good for us, we are going to have a lifestyle that causes us to eat those foods. The choices we make food will either help or hinder our digestion. The food we digest becomes our blood and our blood provides the nourishment to create the rest of the tissues, we start to get in this cycle.

Weak blood>weak tissue> poor digestion
Poor digestion leads to weak blood which leads to weak tissues and this means even
worse digestion. We have to break that feedback loop.
I follow this gal on IG, and she is all about the raw foods. She makes beautiful salads,
dressings, and all sorts of goodness. What if I believed this was the way to go because
it does look incredibly beautiful and healthy. And, we all know fresh foods have more
Prana, life force. They also have more enzymes and more nutrition than cooked foods.
So what if I really believed it and adopted that as one of your beliefs? That belief may
cause me to go into the raw foods lifestyle and stop eating anything cooked.
I'm not saying that raw foods are necessarily bad; however, you must have really strong
digestion. Otherwise, you're going to have trouble digesting all of that raw food. Cooking
helps digestion. Yes, it's going to rob the food of some of its nutrients, but if you can't
digest that raw food, then you can't absorb it and assimilate it into the tissues; therefore,
you can't make use of all of this extra nutrients anyway. So they aren't helping you out.
They're hurting you instead.
The first clues is you get gas and bloating. Gas and bloating means that the food is
sitting in your digestive tract and it's rotting. It means the bacteria in your body are
digesting your food not you!
The bacteria has waste products just like you have waste products and they sit in your
digestive tract and it then becomes inflammation which leads to a vicious cycle.
The nutrients that weren't able to digest become a part of the blood first. Then they get
circulated to the rest of the tissues and eventually feed and become new mature
tissues. If you can't digest the food properly, you will gas and bloating which is a sign
the foods rotting. This becomes weak blood, then weak tissues that in-turn weaken the
digestion further. Do you see the cycle?

You have to start to change those beliefs before you can break the cycle. You can do
that by starting to pay attention to how your body responds to food rather than what the
outside world tells us.
Ayurveda is experiential! It's all about how you experience the food and the energy.
Green smoothies may have lots of things in them that are really healthy, but if you have
a green smoothie and you get gas and bloating and your stomach doesn't feel so good,
then they're not healthy for you. (Especially in the cold winter)
When we learn to listen to what our body's are telling us, then we will start to make
better choices and our digestion will get a lot better. It just takes the time to slow down
and stop and listen to what our body is saying. It may be really difficult in the beginning,
but as time goes by it does become easier.
What we eat today impacts the OJAS (the strength of of digestion) 35 days from now.
Let that sink in before you grab that little sneaky snack.
Another little factoid to consider before cooking dinner tonight, your feelings affect how
the food taste. So if you are angry, you may want to go for a walk or journal before
making your family dinner.
My husband tells everyone I am the best cook ever. I am an average cook truthfully. I
just really love him and love cooking for him, so it makes it taste really good. (shh don't
tell him my little secret)
Think about when you have gone home to see your Gran and she made you something
simple, and you felt so loved and nourished. This is how foods impacts your
consciousness and the mind. My Granny used to make the best grilled cheese in the
world. I now know it was because she made it with love.

Several people want to do the call Thursday. I can do Thursday at 2:00 this week. What
topics would you like to have more clarity?
