March Melt Down and the Psychology of Spring Spring is here! Even though the official first day of spring is March 20,
the birds are chirping by 6:15 am and the weather is warm! I actually put on my swimsuit last weekend and went to the beach! Spring is the time when there is a massive shift both externally and internally. During fall and winter, your body has been struggling to cope with the cold and wet weather. As a result your body built an insulating layer of fat to keep you warm. Your circulation has also been sluggish and stagnant.
In early February, your body starts figuring out that spring is on the way and it's
preparing for a new season. Now is the time when your body needs to get rid of all of
the fat that it's accumulated and stored over winter.
Give me a high five if you gained a few ELL Bs over the winter. I know I did! Yikes!
If you keep the fat in the summer, the body will get overheated. This is literally the
March Meltdown! Your body starts to melt its insulating layer of fat just like my Leo is
shedding his winter fur all over my house. He also has a dry cough that I believe is from
the pollen in the air. We are in the deep south where the flower and trees are blooming
everywhere.
How about you?
Are you coughing or experiencing any allergies?
I have a cure for it!
This is the best time to do a cleanse and support your body as you release the layer of
fat from the winter and prepare for the summer heat. Spring is the best time to cleanse
so the liver and gallbladder can just release the heavy metal, toxins, and bile. It is nasty
in there. I am doing it now and wow. It is amazing to see!
There is actually a psychology to each season and you can feel spring in the air! Think
about how it affects your emotions. In early spring you may experience depression. This
is because the spring blood tends to be thick and rich and this causes your liver and
gallbladder to become congested.
When your liver is congested, you end up feeling sluggish, lethargic, and lacking
enthusiasm and motivation to even get out of bed. Congestion of any type can also
cause suppression of emotions, leaving you feeling heavy and weighed down.
You may feel sad in the spring. This is because the heavy, watery and nature of spring
can create feelings of nostalgia. This sadness or past grief may resurface. You may will
feel a heaviness in the center in the chest, around the heart and in the lungs. If you do
not attend to the first signs, it will physically manifest into a medical issue if you are not
mindful.
Did you know that heart attacks increase by 24% on the Monday after daylight savings
time change? That is this weekend. So please be mindful this weekend breathe. Take
extra care of yourself. Listen to your body. It knows all your secrets and gives us
messages.
And so, in spring, we know that all the snow and ice starts to thaw and with that thaw,
buried emotions can come to the surface. Anytime your body releases fats, stored
toxins the emotional stuff comes out too.
Repressed emotions that are coming to the surface can create an opportunity for
reflection so it's just important to keep in mind that spring is not only a time to cleanse
physically, it's also an opportunity for a mental or emotional cleanse as well.
This is the perfect time to join me for a cleanse! Whether you decide to do the 21 day
healthy challenge that starts March 20 or jump all in for some coaching or therapy, I
want you to release the old and plant seeds this Spring to Manifest Your Destiny! You
Get to Choose!
